Naming Ceremonies

Welcoming a child ceremonies

Free Range Naming ceremonies

Sometimes thought of as a “secular christening”, these ceremonies welcome your babies/ children into your family and into your community. Ceremonies can include more than one child of the family and there are no age restrictions.

Free Range Adoption Ceremonies

A special celebration of a new arrival(s) into the family and a welcome to him, or her, or them, to the family and the wider community. Similar to naming ceremonies and if wished, honouring the child’s roots and culture.

Free Range New Step-Family Ceremonies

A celebratory ceremony to affirm the importance of your family unit now that it includes members of two different families joined as one.  Children often belong to more than one family unit and this can be respected in your family’s ceremony.  This ceremony can include promises of mutual respect, tolerance and affection between all its members.

If you choose a Free Range Ceremony, I will:

- spend time with you to understand your hopes and wishes: getting to know you

- offer you ceremony words written with you and for you: your free range ceremony script.

- conduct a ceremony at the location you want: venues anywhere within a 45-mile radius of Exeter [or further afield with additional travel costs]
